Elections Writing
WALT: Write an effective argument for our chosen political party.
What is the best party to vote for?. I think it is the Maori Party is the best party to vote for personally. Here are three policies I am going to vote for from the Maori Party. The first policies I am voting for is to aim to end homelessness by 2020.
Aim to end homelessness by 2020. They want to get people off the streets and they want to give people more jobs as a builder and if there is people on the streets with kids they can give them a good life. Also people can live a normal life in a house and have shelter for their kids also water, food and clothes. Lastly people don’t ask you for money on the streets and so there is more space to put stuff like statues. Another policy is Halve power bills for households with rheumatic fever.
Halve power bills for households with rheumatic fever. The Maori party wants to halve the power bills for the families that are going thru a tough time in their life. Because they have to pay things to help the person with rheumatic fever. Also they can save their money to get a healthier home so the kids and parents don't get sick. As well as halving power bills for households with rheumatic fever, Strengthening tenants’ rights is also a great policy.
Strengthening tenant's’ rights. Firstly the people that live in the house can do stuff to the house that may help it get better. Second people can put stuff in the house and outside that could make the house better but they can ask. Lastly they can remove stuff from the house without asking and build sheds if they won’t. My next paragraph is about how getting rid of national standard spreadsheet is bad.
Abolish National Standards. If they do this kids won't be able to know what they need to achieve in their learning. This will not be good because the parents will not be able to see there kids are doing and achieving. The kids might be doing stuff that is way too easy because they can't see what they are doing and they standard. Now i'm going to wrap up all my points in the conclusion.
That’s the political party I'm voting for is Maori party all the way. I have voted for these policies Aim to end homelessness by 2020 Halve power bills for households with rheumatic fever Strengthen tenants’ rights. Would you really want labour running the country.
My next steps are:to use more commas and semicolon

I can apply my knowledge of adverbial clauses
I can apply my knowledge of adverbial clauses and connectives to see how ideas are linked in texts.
For reading I have been learning about adverbial clauses. I have found this learning hard because i had no idea what it was
In this activity (link to adverbial clause activity), I had to find the adverbial clause.
